The intro? I didnāt see it, I always skipped the intro but I went back just to check if they have added the extra red ring at the end.
Yup, that was also my reaction with the old OST during TSās ring absorption scene. Iām definitely missing the epic OST the one when TS first returned to Haotian Clan.
Ya i agree with you, they could have atleast used that hammer sect ost imo it would be better
His acquisition of the 7th soul ring was put on fast forward. I honestly expected them to milk an entire episode of that but hey, it is what it is.
I wonder what reaction will the people back in Tiandu have when Tangsan and the group returns
Actually there is a scene in that vein but it comes later when he returns to Clear Sky Sect. The reactions are priceless. If you think he's powerful now....just wait.
bro why is there 3 100k rings in tang san body, did you notice too?
Saw that too. The two red rings made his third/purple look red but it isn't, obviously. Just a glitch on the animators part.
nope its actually 100,000 Year Ring watch the part he acquired it by blue grass guardian said that ring is actually 100,000 Year Ring since tang san can`t handle that ring that time
That's his 5th not his 3rd. Ednavv was referring to 17:22 when it 'looks' like his 3rd is red but it isn't....
Grant him the title Royal Teacher
Actually I quite enjoyed the episode today except for some gripes as usual. Darn humans can never be satisfied! š
But just as @douluo said, they totally downplayed the whole absorption scene. I was a lilā gobsmacked, like thatās it? I remember in the earlier episodes when TS was absorbing his first human-faced spider, he supposedly already started absorbing rings above the endurance limit of the human bodies. He almost died and even hallucinated that he went back to his Tang Sect.
The scene where he turned into a blue Buddha was comical. In the novel, the pressure he had to endure was so intense; he was completely bald because he literally bled from all pores and his skin formed crust. He then just sat there and statuefied for 100 days. When he finally woke up, the crust started peeling of, which explains why he was completely bald revealing a layer of newly grown skin, just like a newborn.
The last two episodes were quite mundane with Xiang Xiang being the focus. Iām not a big fan of her, they made her look like a sour lemon here. Today, they still gave her some screen time (nope sheās not the 8th Shrek Devil, never was and never will).
I felt they should have spent a wee bit more time on the Shrek girls instead, for instance ZZQ! Sheās just like an adornment for Mubai. I love powerful male protagonists but not misogynists. The only thing they gave the Shrek girls was a shriek from Rong Rong. In the novel, she called out āthird brotherā upon seeing TS bleeding profusely. What a pity!
However, I really enjoyed the Tang Sect addition. Well maybe except the part where they made Yang Wudi looked like a hippie. I feel this is where the author neglected Tang Sect completely. Itās supposed to be the cornerstone of his DD series and the very primordial reason for TSās purpose here in Douluo Continent.
Oh, btw it seems the Chinese fans were in an uproar over āTSās hideous modellingā. Did anyone notice TSās facial features have changed since he got his pony tail? There were even petitions to the producers to have the āBlue Silver Emperorās TSā back. š¤£
Yeah they seemed to have given him bigger anime eyes for some reason and elongated his face with a pointier chin. Whoever thought that looked better should be fired.
IKR...it was especially evident when he lost his hair--he looked like a bug with those eyes LOL. I LMAO when XW was pulling her ears down š
LMAO!! A bug!! š¤£š¤£š¤£
I just checked the Chinese website again and they call him āSnake TSā and heās officially hailed as the ugliest man in China! š¤Ŗ The website has now become my source of entertainment especially with the funny translation!
LMAO, fanbases are mercilessš¤£
It actually reminds me of some Chinese depictions of Buddha, which led me look up why Buddha was portrayed like that, then I found this:
Classic standards of Chinese beauty
1. San ting wu yan (three courts and five eyes)
This is a standard for proportion and location of features.
Three courts refer to the space between the forehead hairline and eyebrows, the space between the eyebrows and nose tip, and the space between the nose tip and the chin. The length of three courts of a beautiful face should be equal.
The "five-eyes" standard means that seen from the front, the distance from the left ear to right ear should be the length of five eyes.
The distance from the left ear to far left eye corner, that from left inside (by the nose) eye corner to the right inside eye corner, that from the far right eye corner to the right eye should all be equal.
2. Egg face or melon-seed face
The forehead should be full while the cheeks should be narrower, in an oval. The outline should be smooth.
The angle between chin and cheek should be 120 degrees. The tip of the nose, lips and lowest point of the chin should be in line.
3. Bright, large eyes with double-eyelids.
4. Delicate nose, straight with round tip.
5. Moderately full lips, the lower a big fuller than the upper.
Could be BS though š
HA, nice find. Let the measurements beginš¤£
I see, that's why chinese classical pictures have all that feature

HA! That's hilarious. Yes I noticed it too and think the animators went way too far with the pointier facial features. It makes him look older and quasi gaunt, and worse, it's accentuated by that awful ponytail lol. For once I agree with Chinese fans LOL. I much prefer his slightly more boyish look, which appears more human/real from a 3D rendering standpoint imo.
I havent read the LN either, I took a look at some of the chapters of the manga back in december last year but stopped reading further than when the spirit hall was attacking the kings palace. While the ring absorption didnt follow what was shown in the LN, it is however very similar to what was said in a previous episode when Er Long beat a spirit beast into submission because it disturbed her attempts at getting closer to Xiao Gang in the camp site back in episode 62 (42 for season 2).
When the shrike members were discussing how easy it was for Ma Hongjun to obtain his ring Tang San gave two reasons for why the ring was easy to absorb, firstly because spirit beast was full of resentment and secondly that the spirit beast accepted its death and gave its ring up with no repercussions. The second reason for why it was easily absorbed is similar to what happened here but instead of a spirit beast dying, he was gifted the ring making its absorption easier to handle even though it took 3 and 1/2 months.
its hard to say why they changed it but at a guess it was probably because they wanted to make it less bloody for their viewers even though they still had what looked to be blood mist when his back skill bone shattered into a million pieces.
you see
I'm lazy as hell to read and anime's is all there for me
so I really appreciate comments like yours and Douluo's that explained the scene more (they're canon afterall so it's nice to know).
keep those facts coming if you will and thank you ^_^
oh and rom anime's only perspective, TS baldness can't be seen as anything other than a comic relief joke :I
and I'm sure if they show that sufering and pain it'll be soooooooooooooooooo much more powerful of an episode :(
still an enjoyable episode tho
Fair points, havent read the LN yet. Would you recommend to read from the start? Like is the difference between anime and novel that big
If you have the time to spare, do read the LN. Itās actually not that much different from the anime. I must say, this anime is quite faithful to its original source. But of course, a lot of mini arcs and characters development are not elaborated here. So youāll actually understand the plot line better if youāve read the novel. I think it will not take away the suspense but complement to your watching.
That being said, some parts of the novel are very tedious and repetitive, and you might also get annoyed by the authorās lack of coherence. He literally forgot what he wrote and contradicted himself in so many occasions.
But do give it a go. Except for some ridiculous deus-ex-machina plot holes, the disappointing finale and the gripes I mentioned above, I actually enjoyed the LN. The world building is quite something. Youāll be immersed in the DD world because the author actually describes everything in such details.
Google for bluesilvertranslations. They are the first and the best translators of the LN.
waaaaaaaaaaaaait the ending is bad?!
now I'm scared :(
YES!! Tang San's level 70 now. We can see his martial soul's form just like Wu Ji. But why is his form just a bigger himself. Maybe because Blue silver grass has no form just like the sword douluo soul form.
But I'm so EXCITED by seeing his clan and his 70 soul ring. This Anime is becoming OP.
op indeed i am thinking his hammer also still left to get soul rings.......
and all of it will be gone after Wu's resurrection
Well it will just that 8/9 of its rings will be got by tang san hunting himself, the last one ...... OMG.....I don't want to spoil. Tang Hao told Tang san not to take rings in Hao Tian hammer until Blue Silver emperor has 9 rings because, first reason(Not that explicit) he wants his son to be a repayment to the clan and that he will take the clan forward because his dad thinks he is a sinner to the clan. 2nd more important reason is Hao Tian hammer is very heavy, without any ring it starts with 150kg so tang hao doesnt want his son to be crippled trying to use the heavy hammer which becomes heavier with each ring. Normally for a normal hao tian hammer user the weight maxes out as near about 900kg but because tang san crossed level 90 when adding soul rings to hao tian hammer he can easily put black and red rings on his hammer coz its very less stressful now as he is quite strong with the Poseidon power brand in his forehead and being a 90+ soul level doulou.
Well if u ever want to know tang san's spirit ring configuration when he went to fight bibi dong let me know. i will put it down here
watched this episode 5 times and still fking love the ending.
op af especially hair growing! imagine u can change ur hair cut daily (personal wish) ts's chin can kill someone already, this needa stop. it reminds me of a parody anime which all characters have pointiest chins xD
DUDE. That power flex at the end was lit af. Visuals and sound gave me some serious chills.
This episode was so epic. Especially the part where Tang San showed his rings and soul power.
2nd Millennium yr old ring
Wow.. The animation was amazing, Before I don't like 3d animation but now I watch every anime that has good plot even if its in 3d. I love it
YH LOL
He is the ugliest man in China
15:28 Instant transmission
What a bish, she gave her first kiss to illusion, not the real guy
#justice
i will growing my hair with time! and then a few seconds later his hair become normal back without much time how convenient
17:15 looks like he has 3 century millenium soul rings instead of 2.
so it'll be angel vs Sea God in the future? well kinda knew who's stronger though XD
hearing that song in the end feels so nostalgic, glad that Tang San's growing more and more op, he need to face the spirit hall afterall.
but what's a god bestowed ring tho? I mean what animal it is based of?
and the most op ability is ofc regrowing your hair and styling your cloth at will lmao
the worldbuilding in this anime is insane and I really hope they didn't mess up somewhere in the future.
all hail Soul Land
I read in the manhwa that Tang san will get a really op soul ring (
thank you for not spoiling and let us look forward to the more amazing moments in the future ^^
7th soul ring here we gooo
Who else thought that his hair wouldnāt grow back for at least the next episodeās. Thank god it grew
I. Thought it wasn't an i was going to say im glad this show changes things up if only characters could have multiple outfits i know they'll always be people who say thats too much extra work/time money but idc i think they should not wear same gear every episode just what i think an should have different. Hairstyles after 45 episodes
I want to see Tang San make an epic last minute entrance like his dad.
Anyone else do a double take when the second red ring appeared after the intro?š I saw some complaints elsewhere that it spoiled the episode lol.
BS Avatar is a MONSTER power-up (I won't spoil but remember Mubai's hint) so I loved how the animators adapted the end. The problem is that it sorta minimized the difficulty of absorbing a 100k yr ring, which in reality had him bleeding from every pore and nearly killed him. It's life threatening even for a TD, much less a Spirit Emperor, so this is a HUGE deal: similar to when he absorbed a 10k yr at level 40 but MUCH BIGGER. Imo we never got any genuine sense of danger because they burned too much screen time on Tang Sect and that beotch QR (who by the way basically cheats her way through the Angelic Trials). Also was a bit disappointed that they revived the old opening OST (wth?) during his 7th which didn't fit at all imo. I was really hoping for a new/better track but oh well..At least we can look forward to the end of stairs and more exciting tests LOL..
